Varicose Veins

Varicose veins are a very common condition, especially in the legs. Veins have leaflet valves to prevent blood from flowing backwards. When veins become enlarged, the leaflets of the valves no longer meet properly, and the valves don't work which causes the veins to become visible due to the collected blood within. They are most visible in the legs as they are subject to high pressure when standing.

Varicose veins are considered by many as unsightly and cause many women to give up wearing skirts or shorts. However aside from the aesthetic issues, these veins are often painful when walking or standing, can cause a deep throbbing feeling and often produce an itching sensation, which when scratched can form ulcers.

There are various treatments for varicose veins available but one of the best non-surgical methods is the use of Sclerotherapy which we are experts at here at LaserDoc
