Laser Facial Vein Treatment
Facial veins, also known as facial thread veins, are not actually veins at all, but derive their name from their spider-like appearance on the surface of the skin. These are caused by dilated capillaries and appear on the nose and cheeks most commonly. Facial veins are associated with the aging process, but can be hereditary or due to over exposure to the sun.
Laser treatment is one of the most effective ways to remove facial veins; it is a very simple procedure with quick results. The afflicted area is treated with directed laser energy which causes the vein to collapse and seals it shut. Over time the body will absorb this naturally and the treated area will appear clear.
Treatments only take around 15-30 minutes based on the size of the area being treated and on average only a few treatments will be required. As with most laser treatments there is a mild stinging sensation felt during the process which can produce minor discomfort. After care is minimal due to few side effects, however some slight swelling and tenderness is not uncommon, but will subside quickly and sunscreen is advised as is avoiding direct strong sunlight.
