Ageing Skin

Ageing skin is inevitable, we all get older, and our skin is ageing from the day we are born; however it is later in life when the ravages of time start to show. As you get older you lose adipose, which is the fatty layer that is below the skin, which keeps the skin smooth and healthy looking. This loss of adipose, along with a loss of elastin and collagen makes the skin sag and also makes it appear wrinkly. Aging skin also tends to be dryer and other problems that can develop include sunspots and liver spots. The symptoms of ageing skin can be brought on by other means at younger ages such as smoking, stress and over exposure to the sun.

Ageing skin can be treated in several ways including laser skin rejuvenation, chemical skin peels, collagen induction therapy and microdermabrasion.
